Champion and USSR National Champion
(1986). He has won the silver medal at the
USSR Championships, is a 2-time bronze
medalist of the USSR Cup and a World Cup
finalist--earning gold, silver and bronze
medals in the team events. He has also
been a member of the world-level teams of
the USSR, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan,
earning world-class status as one of the top
fencers of his time.

Bakhyt received his BA degree in Physical
Education and Fencing Instruction from the Kazakh Institute of Physical Culture. He has over 20 years of coaching experience and has developed countless youth and adult fencing programs all over the world – from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and now the United States.

Bakhyt is fluent in Russian, English, and Spanish and has been a Head Coach in the Chicago area's most well-known fencing academies since 1995. He has been instrumental in training multiple "A" level fencers and helping them attain national and world-class status as some of the strongest fencers in the United States. Many of his students have won gold medals at the U.S. National Championships and have been finalists at North American Cups, Junior Olympics, and World Cup competitions.

Bakhyt's training and devotion to the sport of fencing has helped many of his students gain placement on fencing teams in some of the nation's most prestigious universities: Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Brown and the University of Pennsylvania, which both his daughters attended after being recruited for their strong fencing background.
